Re: Indie game contests
You are joking right? There is no way we have anything ready by now to enter in contest. We will enter in their next contest at start of next year. If anyone finds any legitimate indie contest just post link there.

Re: Indie game contests
We do have quite a bit done! I'm assuming that these competitions don't require a finished game, probably just a prototype or even a concept will be enough to enter. All we need are a few placeholder, test levels and I can implement the movement framework I've been working on. It'll look OK, and though it won't win any awards, it will look like a primitive racer and it should be enough to enter the competition.
Re: Indie game contests
Jonathan you are right, but the thing is that we dont want just to enter we want to win some award right? And since i have been following two indie contest already i know that winners are always demos or at least games with ingame footage (screens). Most of concept designs are ignored only if contest demands concept only like latest Intel contest for example.

Re: Indie game contests
I take your point, and maybe you're right that it is too early to enter one of these competitions. All I'm saying is, the programming and gameplay scripting is up to a point that if we were to create 1 good looking level and integrate it with the current Gameplay scripts, it would actually look like a proper racer game (a little crappy, but still valid!)
Re: Indie game contests
I agree with jonathan!!
above all we are just required to submit the proposal document till 14th.
As far as the project is concerned you take care of the art side
We will get the programming done!!

Re: Indie game contests
Wouldn't we need Unity Pro in order to export and send the executable to IGF?

Re: Indie game contests
We do not need PRO version to export game in exe. Standart free version does that too, thats the advantage of Unity. You can develop game with actually free engine but afcourse you are shorten with some features.
